After reading Kathryn Schulz article in the New Yorker, a friend got his hands on the time periods for the major cascadia earthquake dates and calculated the intervals between them to get a sense of where our current interval compares with historical intervals. He sent some R code that created this plot. Seems like most of the recorded intervals are even longer than the one we're Howardhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16562195664329069690noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4070679.post-14727014324060257862015-01-04T10:18:00.002-08:002015-01-04T10:18:23.535-08:00

Here's a sauce we had somewhere that I really liked. I don't remember where it was but I've had the ingredients written down on a piece of paper for months and this is my attempt to get rid of random slips of paper.
cilantro
jalepeno
garlic
lemon
brown sugar
salt
oil
Let's see if I ever make it.

By the way - I have no fucking idea what happened to 2013. Here are some highlights obtained by looking over my Google Calendar (except for birthdays):
I turned 43.
Heather turned 28.
Zoe turned 11.
Solome turned 6.
We saw Warhorse at the Paramount (front row - thanks dad). Awesome.
Heather had a bunch of fun trips with her GLOW group - including to Seaside, OR.

We had a super fun trip to Vashon Island (my first time on Vashon!) to attend the 2012 Low-Tide Celebration. We saw lots of cool marine life that you usually would not see because it's covered with water! We brought our friends kids, Rhiannon and Nathaniel and everyone had a great time!
As you can see from these pics, there was a huge native American canoe on display and in operation! &Howardhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16562195664329069690noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4070679.post-33518954056303533962012-06-03T10:11:00.001-07:002012-06-03T10:11:39.153-07:00

My friend Mark's fiancee, Janeen, inspired me to get this recipe on my blog so I don't lose it - it's been sitting on 3 little pieces of paper on my desk for years.
